Thunderbird Vice President of Information Technology David Oliver has more than 20 years of experience in IT and project management across a range of industries. That depth and breadth of expertise is essential to his responsibilities developing the direction of Thunderbird IT initiatives while ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly.
David's background goes beyond IT. He has a history of executing business strategies and technology initiatives across functional areas with a strong background in collaboration delivering strategic objectives. An executive presence that adds value by solving business problems, David is motivated by change and understands how to leverage IT based on a company's vision.
Most recently, David was IT director at Federal Heath Sign, a global industry leader in the manufacturing and management of turnkey solutions for sign identity and business image needs. While there, he reported directly to the CEO as part of the senior management team and collaborated on long-range plans and business strategies.
David managed a number of critical projects during his time at Federal Heath, including leading a ransomware attack response, which consisted of investigation, recovery, and development and implementation of multiple safeguards; reconfiguring internal infrastructure to allow for work-from-home expansion during the pandemic; and overseeing a $3 million expense and capital budget during a IT department restructuring that resulted in an 80% increase in network reliability.
David is a graduate of North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, where he earned his bachelor's degree in business/management. He also has Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
